Palmaesthetica is my first collection of algorithmic digital art works and comprises 6,650 unique pieces available as NFTs (non-fungible tokens).
As the name implies, it is about exploring the endless possibilities for creating a look and feel in a piece of art, and in this case uses the palm tree as the subject. I chose this subject because I find it is appealing and lends itself to being depicted in both expected and unexpected ways.
Each piece is created by a computer program that I have written. The algorithms encapsulate the abstract essence of the style of composition I intended to create, and are able to endlessly generate variations on the theme. Much of the effort that goes into the algorithms is to make sure that each image generated is worthwhile in it’s own right.
